Common Questions

POOL SAFETY FAQs

Do I need a pool safety certificate in Queensland?

Yes. Queensland law requires all properties with a pool or spa to have a valid Pool Safety Certificate before selling, leasing, or when requested by a local council. Certificates are valid for 2 years for non-shared pools.

How long does an inspection take?

Most residential pool inspections take between 30–60 minutes depending on the size and complexity of your pool barrier.

What happens if my pool doesn't pass?

We'll provide a detailed non-conformity notice outlining exactly what needs to be fixed. Once rectified, we can return for a re-inspection at a reduced fee. Some compliance issues can be resolved by the inspector in accordance with QBCC guidelines for your convenience.

How quickly can I get a certificate?

If your pool passes inspection, the certificate is issued the same day. We aim to have inspections booked within 2–5 business days.

What is a pool safety certificate (Form 23)?

A Form 23 is the official pool safety certificate in Queensland. It confirms that your pool barrier meets current safety standards. This certificate is required when selling or leasing a property. It's valid for 2 years for sales and must be issued within 90 days for leasing agreements.
